Teaching for the pre-school and primary levels
The studies consist of educational science (including aspects of special needs education and intercultural education), level-specific and subject-specific didactics, subject content with inter-disciplinary sections, practical training, and references to research and development in the vocational field.
The goal is to qualify students to teach at the pre-school or primary level or at both of these levels, and to teach in all relevant subjects (general teacher) or in a wide range of subjects (specialist teacher).
The studies qualify the graduates

-
to register the developmental status and the learning behaviour of the children and to encourage them using adequate measures,
-
to support the socialisation of the children,
-
to work together with other teaching staff, school management, parents and officials,

The studies combine theory and practical work, as well as teaching and research. The number of subjects to be taught varies between 1 and 6, depending on the university of teacher education or educational institution.
The goal is to impart adequate knowledge and competence for educating and instructing pupils at lower secondary level.
The studies qualify the graduates

-
to support the pupils in their career decisions and to prepare them for the transfer to subsequent vocational education and training or a school on the upper secondary level,

The goal is to reach the qualification as a teacher for matura schools in 1 or 2 subjects (according to the Regulations on the Recognition of Matura Certificates). The vocational education and training is realised in conjunction with a Master course in a specific discipline of study and can also be completed in parallel to the Master course.
The profession-related studies qualify the graduates

to plan the lessons in the scope of the current curricula and to organise them under consideration of interdisciplinary aspects,
-
to convey to students the knowledge base required for subsequent university studies,
