Fiftieth anniversary of FCS

The Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students celebrates its 50th anniversary. Over 7,000 young researchers, students and artists from five different continents – half developing, half industrialised countries - have since than been awarded an exchange scholarship in Switzerland.

New brochure on "Studying in Switzerland"

The Rectors' Conference of the Swiss Universities has published a brochure in English entitled "Studying in Switzerland: Universities, 2011". Apart from explaining the various university studies available in Switzerland, it also describes the Swiss education system as a whole. Free download.

Three out of four students have to work

Seventy-five per cent of Swiss students have to work to finance their studies, and the work-study combination could be affecting their health, a study by the Swiss Statistical Office shows. Compared with five years ago, they have less to live on.
